Music for Change
Taking the music where It’s needed most
Jazz, improvisation and community music has always been more than only music. It’s a conversation — deep listening, soulful response, and creating something new, together.
With Music for Change, we’re inviting festivals and artists worldwide to take that spirit further: to places where music is not a luxury, but a lifeline.
This is where Sounds of Change steps in.
We bring music to communities living with conflict, crisis, and displacement — places where healing is urgent and hope is fragile. We train local professionals to weave music into psychosocial support, giving children, teenagers, and adults a safe space to reconnect, express, and recover through rhythm, voice, and songwriting.
Each year, we train hundreds of dedicated people who in turn reach thousands in their own communities. Our programs ripple outward — from one trained teacher to hundreds of lives touched — building resilience where it’s needed most. Today, our work reaches Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Syria, and Ukraine.
Jazz for Change connects the global music communit to this mission.
When you — as an artist or festival — join us, you bring instruments, creative tools, and lasting mentorship to the people who need them most. Together, we turn jazz into more than a performance — into a force for empowerment, creativity, and recovery.
